How We Handle Equipment Repair

We diagnose first, quote before any work, and repair on the same visit when parts are available. No surprises.

Diagnostic Visit

We assess the equipment, run tests, and identify the actual cause of the problem — not just the symptom. A pump that trips the breaker could be a failed capacitor, a blocked impeller, or a winding failure. We find out which.

Clear Written Quote

Before any repair work starts, you receive a written estimate in plain language — what the problem is, what the repair involves, what it costs, and what we recommend if the repair isn't cost-effective relative to replacement.

Same-Visit Repair

We stock common replacement parts — capacitors, seal kits, impellers, O-rings, control boards, flow switches. Most repairs are completed on the diagnostic visit once you've approved the quote. No scheduling a second trip for parts.

Pool Equipment Repair Questions

Common warning signs include: loud grinding, humming, or screeching sounds (bearing wear), the pump running but water not circulating (impeller damage or air lock), the breaker tripping when the pump tries to start (motor winding failure), water leaking from the pump body (seal failure), or the motor running very hot. Any of these warrant a diagnostic visit — a pump running in distress often damages itself further if left to run.
We always evaluate repair first and recommend it when it's practical. The repair is the right choice when: the component is still within normal service life, the repair cost is significantly lower than replacement, and the repair addresses the root cause rather than a symptom. Replacement makes more sense when: parts cost approaches equipment cost, the unit is at or past expected service life, or the failure is symptomatic of overall deterioration that will continue. We'll tell you honestly which situation you're in.
For clients on active service plans, equipment issues are prioritized and we respond within 24 hours. For new clients contacting us for a repair, we typically schedule a diagnostic visit within 2–3 business days. A pool pump that's been out for more than a few days will begin developing water quality problems, so we treat pump failures as urgent.
We service all major residential brands including Pentair, Hayward, Jandy/Zodiac, Sta-Rite, Raypak, and Rheem. For salt chlorinators, we service Pentair IntelliChlor, Hayward Aqua-Rite, Jandy TruClear, and most residential SCG systems. For automation, we handle Pentair IntelliTouch and EasyTouch, Hayward OmniLogic and AquaLogic, and Jandy iAqualink.
Yes. Equipment repair is available as a standalone service. You don't need to be on a regular maintenance or cleaning plan with us. That said, many homeowners who call us for a repair end up starting a weekly cleaning plan — often because our diagnostic visit reveals that chemistry issues contributed to the equipment problem.
